Application Migration Engineer – Azure Lift & Shift

Overview

We are looking for Application Migration Engineers to support an on-premise to Azure lift-and-shift migration. The role focuses on validating and stabilizing replicated application environments created through Azure Migrate and preparing systems for production cutover.

This role involves configuration troubleshooting and environment validation, not application development.

Key Responsibilities

Validate replicated application servers in Azure test environments.

Troubleshoot application startup issues and configuration dependencies.

Update connection strings, endpoints, DNS references, and configuration files as required.

Validate database connectivity, file shares, and inter-application communication.

Review scheduled jobs, background services, and batch processes.

Document configuration changes required for production cutover.

Support defect resolution and migration readiness activities.

Required Skills

Experience supporting enterprise applications (Windows environments).

Strong troubleshooting of application configuration and runtime issues.

Knowledge of SQL Server or relational databases.

Understanding of networking basics (DNS, ports, connectivity).

Familiarity with cloud migration or Azure environments is beneficial.

Nice to Have

Experience with Azure Migrate or VM-based migrations.

Experience supporting legacy or vendor applications without source code.
