As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you are joining a passionate software engineering team to build sequencing products to change patients' lives. You will help build highly scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based software systems. Ultimately, the software you produce will impact patient care globally.

Your Opportunity

• Architect, implement, and rigorously test backend APIs, software features, and product infrastructure.
• Leverage serverless computing, distributed platforms, and cloud technologies to build robust solutions.
• Utilize AI tools and Large Language Models (LLMs) to accelerate the design, implementation, and optimization of software architecture and code.
• Write clean, maintainable code, comprehensive documentation, and robust automated tests.
• Research new tools, testing processes, and technologies to continuously improve our development lifecycle.

Who You Are

• 6 years of hands-on software development experience.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• Highly proficient in Java, Spring Boot, and building REST APIs for software products.
• Experience with microservices architecture and development including associated tools.
• Familiarity with relational databases like PostgresSQL and MySQL.
• Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies and work with Agile/Lean practices and scalable architecture.
• Act as an effective communicator who can navigate conflict, influence project outcomes, and support the team through strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and continuous feedback.

Preferred

• Hands-on experience building out cloud solutions specifically using AWS.
• Frontend development experience, allowing you to comfortably step into full-stack tasks.
• A background in life sciences, medical devices, or bioinformatics.
• Experience developing regulated products under strict design controls.
• Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
