Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Junior Lawyer role based at the Nagpur Bench of the High Court of Bombay. The Junior Lawyer will assist senior advocates and court officers with legal research, case preparation, and drafting of pleadings, written submissions, and legal opinions. Daily responsibilities include analyzing case files, identifying relevant statutes and case law, preparing case briefs, and organizing documents for hearings. The role also involves attending court proceedings, taking detailed notes of arguments and orders, and coordinating with clients or instructing attorneys under supervision. The Junior Lawyer will be expected to maintain accurate records, meet filing deadlines, and adhere to all professional and ethical obligations of legal practice.
Qualifications
- Possession of a recognized LL.B. degree (or equivalent law degree) and enrollment with a State Bar Council, with eligibility to practice before High Courts.
- Strong foundation in constitutional law, civil procedure, criminal procedure, and evidence law, with the ability to apply legal principles to complex fact situations.
- Proficiency in legal research using case law databases, statutes, rules, and secondary legal materials, with the ability to synthesize findings clearly and accurately.
- Effective legal drafting skills, including preparation of petitions, affidavits, written submissions, and legal correspondence with attention to detail and clarity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; working knowledge of Marathi and/or Hindi is highly beneficial for interacting with clients and reviewing documents.

- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple matters, manage deadlines, and maintain well-structured case files.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with senior lawyers, court staff, and clients, while being self-motivated and willing to learn in a fast-paced court environment.
- Prior internships, clerkships, or junior roles in litigation, particularly before High Courts or trial courts, will be considered an advantage.
