After Effects Animator (Ongoing Weekly Work)

We’re looking for a reliable After Effects animator to create short, simple motion clips for a YouTube channel.

You will be placing pre-made alpha assets (animals, objects, etc.) into backgrounds and animating basic movement (position, scale, timing).

A key part of this role is choosing strong backgrounds that fit the style of the channel. Backgrounds should feel colorful, visually appealing, modern, and appropriate for the subject. You must also make sure that any assets used are cleared for commercial use.

The work is straightforward, but it requires good visual judgment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow direction closely.

Responsibilities

-Search for and select backgrounds that are colorful, modern, visually appealing, and appropriate for each clip

-Make sure all backgrounds and assets used are copyright-free or properly licensed for commercial use

-Ensure the subject and background are visually cohesive (color, lighting, and shadows should match; avoid clashing combinations)

-Match the requested theme for each clip (movement and scene should align with the concept)

-Place alpha assets into scenes

-Animate simple, clean movement in After Effects

-Ensure the subject is clearly visible and the scene looks polished

-Export clean, accurate clips

-Review all work carefully before submitting

Each video includes:

~30 clips

~30 seconds per clip

Ongoing weekly work (with potential for more)

Requirements

-Strong After Effects fundamentals

-Good visual taste and ability to choose strong backgrounds

-Able to follow instructions carefully and consistently

-Strong attention to detail

-Must review your work before submitting

-Able to meet deadlines or communicate early if something is delayed

-Must be comfortable sourcing commercially safe assets

Trial

-We will start with a paid test of 3 clips to evaluate fit. (fixed price: $30 total)

We are looking for someone who:

-understands direction quickly

-delivers clean work without repeated corrections

-can work independently once trained
