DevOps Engineer

This is a remote position in Canada

The DevOps Engineer will work collaboratively with infrastructure, development, and operation teams. They will help automate and streamline CI/CD processes and toolsets for high availability, security, scalable enterprise, and software as a service applications within the AWS environment. As a member of the team, you will drive the design, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-release production support.

How you'll CREATE:

  • Support and manage production Kubernetes clusters
  • Analyze, design, and implement strategies for continuous deployment of enterprise and software as a service application while ensuring security and high availability on pre-production and production systems
  • Oversee the coordination, integration, and flow of development, testing, and deployment to support continuous delivery
  • Provide an extremely reliable and secure enterprise environment that is fully automated and free from obstacles
  • Assist team with SOX, quarterly security audits and root cause analysis
  • Operate effectively across development platforms, tools, networks, servers, and databases, in multi-cloud scenarios
  • Assist Developer teams in migrating from legacy pipelines to GitOps workflow

Bring your VIBE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar field
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS and GCP)
  • Experience with cloud based Kubernetes (EKS/GKE or similar)
  • Strong practical Windows-based systems administration skills in an AWS and GCP environment
  • Strong experience with a scripting language (Bash/Python or similar)
  • Experience establishing and employing CI/CD practices and tools (GitlabCI/ArgoCD/TeamCity/Octopus/JFrog or similar)
  • Experience with automation and configuration management using a variety of tools (Ansible/Terraform/Packer or similar)
  • Experience and ability to setup automated monitoring and alerting systems (Prometheus/Grafana/Jaeger/Datadog or similar)
  • Improve platform security, backups, disaster recovery and compliance-readiness
  • Maintain and implement best practices for Postgres/MySQL/DocumentDB etc.
  • Understanding of DevOps principals and a record of implementing and communicating principals across cross-disciplinary teams
  • Develop and implement cost optimization strategies using cloud native tools. (KubeCost/OpenCost or similar)
  • Contribute to a culture of ownership, reliability and an overall engineering mindset
  • Passion for automation of everything to release fast, frequently, and reliably
  • Detail-oriented individual with the ability to rapidly learn new concepts and technologies
