As an Inpatient Coder at Optum, you will play a vital role in accurately coding professional services from medical records in a hospital/clinic setting. Your responsibilities will include analyzing medical records, assigning ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes with appropriate modifiers, and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and conventions.

• *Primary Responsibility:**
• Comply with employment contract terms, company policies, and directives
• Adhere to ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding guidelines
• Assign accurate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and modifiers
• Follow Coding Clinic articles by the American Hospital Association and Client Coding Guidelines
• *Required Qualifications:**
• Life Science or Allied Medicine Graduates with AAPC or AHIMA certification (CIC certification preferred)
• 2+ years of E/M Coding Experience (OP or IP)
• 1+ years of IP DRG Coding Experience or 1+ years in Surgery Coding
• 8+ months of Ancillary Coding Experience
