Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and result-driven professional for the Business Development – Jewellers Block Insurance role within the Corporate Business Group. The incumbent will be responsible for acquiring and managing jewellery industry clients, understanding their risk exposures, and providing comprehensive insurance solutions tailored to the needs of jewellers, bullion traders, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and exporters.

The role focuses on driving business growth through Jewellers Block Insurance, Stock Insurance, Money Insurance, Burglary Insurance, Fidelity Guarantee, Cyber Insurance, Property Insurance, Marine Cargo, and other risk management solutions while ensuring exceptional client service and long-term relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive business development and revenue generation for Jewellers Block Insurance and related risk management solutions.
• Identify and acquire new clients within the jewellery ecosystem, including jewellers, diamond merchants, bullion traders, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and exporters.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with business owners, promoters, CFOs, finance heads, and key decision-makers.
• Conduct risk assessments and understand client operations, inventory movement, transit exposures, vault security, and business risks.
• Design and propose customized insurance programs covering:
• Jewellers Block Insurance
• Stock and Inventory Insurance
• Money Insurance
• Burglary and Theft Insurance
• Fidelity Guarantee Insurance
• Property Insurance
• Marine Cargo Insurance
• Cyber Insurance
• Directors & Officers Liability and other specialty lines
• Coordinate with insurers to obtain competitive quotations, negotiate terms, and structure optimal coverage solutions.
• Prepare presentations, risk reports, insurance comparisons, proposals, and client recommendations.
• Lead client meetings, negotiations, and business presentations to secure new business opportunities.
• Work closely with underwriting, placement, claims, and servicing teams to ensure seamless policy issuance and client servicing.
• Support renewals, retention strategies, and cross-selling opportunities across the client portfolio.
• Monitor market trends, emerging risks, competitor activities, and regulatory developments impacting the jewellery sector.
• Maintain CRM records, sales pipeline reports, business forecasts, and management MIS.
• Represent the company at industry associations, trade forums, jewellery exhibitions, and networking events to generate leads and enhance market visibility.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual business targets as defined by management.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Marketing, Insurance, or a related field.
• MBA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• 5–12 years of experience in Corporate Sales, Business Development, General Insurance, Insurance Broking, or Risk Advisory.
• Experience in handling jewellery industry clients, high-value inventory risks, or commercial insurance portfolios will be preferred.
• Proven track record in new business acquisition and relationship management.
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and risk management principles.
• Experience in dealing with insurance companies, underwriters, and corporate clients.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, consultative selling, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, CRM platforms, and business reporting.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Jewellers Block Insurance within an Insurance Broking environment.
• Existing network within the jewellery, diamond, bullion, or precious metals industry.
• Understanding of inventory valuation, transit risk management, vault security, and loss prevention measures.
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, underwriting practices, and market trends affecting the jewellery sector.
• Ability to develop customized risk solutions for large corporate and SME jewellery clients.
• Exposure to domestic and international jewellery trade operations.
