Job Description
As a Senior Electromechanical Engineer in the Battery Team at Ultraviolette, you will play a crucial role in leading the electromechanical architecture and packaging of battery packs across various programs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading battery pack electromechanical architecture and packaging from concept to production stage
- Owning the mechanical design and integration of the battery pack within the vehicle, considering space, interfaces, serviceability, and integration constraints
- Collaborating with electrical/BMS teams to ensure robust electrical integration, including HV/LV routing concepts, sensing integration, safety features, and grounding/shielding intent
- Driving thermal integration strategy with cross-functional teams to meet performance targets
- Managing design documentation and release, including CAD, drawings, BOMs, and change management
- Ensuring design for manufacturability and assembly, supporting manufacturing process definition and line readiness
- Supporting and guiding DV/PV testing and issue resolution, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and lessons learned
- Collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders on cost, quality, and timeline, while supporting sourcing/industrialization activities
- Mentoring engineers, establishing engineering best practices, and contributing to the development of scalable processes for pack electromechanics
Qualifications required for this role include:
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electromechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 10+ years of experience in electromechanical product development, preferably in EV battery packs, automotive systems, energy storage, power electronics enclosures, or similarly complex hardware
- Proven track record of taking products from prototype to production, including requirements, design iterations, validation, and release
- Strong cross-functional execution skills, comfortable working with electrical, firmware, validation, manufacturing, and supplier teams
- Proficiency in a major CAD tool (Siemens NX) and standard engineering documentation practices
Preferred qualifications for the role include experience in automotive/EV product development cycles, working with structured validation plans, exposure to system safety and compliance considerations relevant to battery systems, experience supporting high-volume manufacturing and supplier ecosystems, and prior experience leading small teams or technical ownership across modules/subsystems.
