Position Overview:
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Director, Sports and Entertainment to help develop and lead efforts to support and advance the U.S. sports economy, both domestically and globally. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Outreach, the ideal candidate will leverage business development, strategic planning, project management, external relations, event management, and marketing expertise to design and execute a comprehensive sports strategy.
The ideal candidate is a high-energy relationship builder with experience engaging leagues, teams, athletes, corporations, associations, and academic institutions. This role will drive revenue growth, expand strategic partnerships, and elevate the Chamber’s influence across the sports ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic plan positioning the Chamber as a leading voice in the sports ecosystem.
- Identify, cultivate, and secure partnerships with leagues, associations, teams, athletes, and corporations to drive membership and revenue growth.
- Lead and manage key sports-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Serve as project manager for cross-functional initiatives, tracking KPIs and evaluating ROI.
- Collaborate with policy experts to analyze emerging issues and develop data-driven insights that support the sports economy.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior leaders and decision-makers across the sports industry.
- Support the development and execution of high-impact events, convenings, and forums.
- Draft presentations, reports, blogs, and executive communications materials.
- Represent the Chamber at industry events, meetings, and external engagements.
Qualifications
- 10–12+ years of experience in the sports industry, including engagement with the business community.
- Strong understanding of the business of sports and emerging trends.
- Proven success in developing and executing high-value partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex issues into actionable opportunities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.
The salary range for this position is $111,137.00 to $120,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
