Job Description
The Government of Alberta’s Digital Design & Delivery (3D) Division is seeking experienced Full Stack Developers to support digital transformation initiatives across multiple government ministries. Developers will work within Agile, cross-functional teams to design, build, modernize, and support citizen-facing digital services using modern development frameworks and human-centered design principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain modern full-stack applications.
- Participate in discovery sessions, technical research, and solution design.
- Develop scalable frontend and backend solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, UX Designers, Architects, and Developers.
- Build reusable components and shared services.
- Resolve functional and non-functional defects.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Produce technical documentation and architecture artifacts.
- Support solution deployment and production releases.
- Contribute to CI/CD practices and software quality improvements.
- Help modernize legacy applications into digital services.
- Mentor team members and support knowledge transfer.
Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years experience as a Full Stack Developer in Agile environments.
- 5+ years experience using Git/source control.
- 3+ years experience with automated unit and integration testing.
- 3+ years experience with relational and non-relational databases.
- 3+ years experience developing production applications using modern application frameworks and JavaScript frontend frameworks.

- Some travel within Alberta may be required
