Job Title: Part-Time Payroll Coordinator

Location: Remote (DC / Northern VA – occasional onsite as needed)

Type: Contract (Potential for Part-Time Conversion)

Hours: 15–20 hours/week (flexible)

Overview

A growing organization is seeking a Part-Time Payroll Coordinator to support end-to-end payroll processing and multi-state payroll tax compliance. This individual will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations while partnering closely with HR and Accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Process semi-monthly and monthly payroll, including bonuses and off-cycle runs
  • Maintain and update payroll records (timecards, deductions, reimbursements, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Manage multi-state payroll tax registrations and resolve tax notices
  • Generate payroll reports using ADP Workforce Now
  • Support onboarding and offboarding payroll activities
  • Assist with year-end processes (W-2s, reconciliations, reporting)
  • Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure data accuracy and alignment
  • Troubleshoot payroll system issues and coordinate with ADP as needed
  • Qualifications:
  • 3–5+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll
  • Strong understanding of payroll taxes and compliance requirements
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now (required)
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
