In this role, you'll be at the forefront of deploying our innovative ML solutions in high-stakes environments, working directly with national security customers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our systems. We want to hear from you if you thrive in fast-paced, challenging environments and are excited about the intersection of advanced technology and critical missions.</p> <p><strong>Job Title:</strong> <em>Field Engineer</em></p> <ul> <li>Reporting to: Engineering Operations Manager</li> <li>Location:<strong> </strong>Geographically flexible for home-office with frequent travel required</li> </ul> <p><strong>Primary Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the year.</li> <li>Understand customer needs and requirements, providing tailored integration solutions using the Frontline Perception System (FPS).</li> <li>Identify and define integration processes for integrating FPS with existing and emergent systems.</li> <li>Write Software Scripts to enable system integrations and workarounds.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer success teams to deliver robust integration solutions.</li> <li>Conduct on-site assessments and evaluations to understand customer infrastructure and recommend optimal integration strategies.</li> <li>Develop detailed integration plans, timelines, and documentation to guide the implementation process.</li> <li>Provide hands-on technical support and training to customers during the integration and deployment phases.</li> <li>Continuously gather feedback from customers to iterate and improve integration processes and FPS capabilities.</li> <li>Ensure successful field deployments by troubleshooting and resolving integration issues promptly.</li> </ul> <p><strong>On a Typical Day You Would:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provision and configure FPS deployments for each engagement you are assigned to.</li> <li>Meet with customers to gather and understand their specific integration needs and constraints.</li> <li>Design and document a tailored integration process for the customer’s existing or emergent systems.</li> <li>Write a js or python script to route data generated in FPS to a client system via api subscription.</li> <li>Deploy and configure FPS on-site, ensuring seamless integration with the customer’s infrastructure.</li> <li>Provide technical training and support to customer teams, ensuring they are confident in using FPS.</li> <li>Collaborate with internal teams to refine and improve FPS based on field experiences and customer feedback.</li> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during integration and deployment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desired Experience and Attributes:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High standard of ethics, grit, integrity, and moral character.</li> <li>5+ years of work experience in system integration, preferably within defense or related industries.</li> <li>Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and their practical applications.</li> <li>Good understanding of networking concepts, LAN vs WAN, ssh, ip, DHCP etc.</li> <li>Proven experience in integrating complex software systems with existing infrastructure.</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in high-pressure environments.</li> <li>Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.</li> <li>Willingness to travel frequently and work on-site with customers as needed.</li> <li>A college degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Startup Culture Expectations:</strong></p> <ul> <li>We’re a small, fully remote team, and everything is our responsibility.</li> <li>Our team thrives on autonomy, trust, and solid communication.</li> <li>Everyone on the Team needs to be very comfortable with constant change, moving fast, sharing failures, embracing grit, and building things themselves.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Eligibility:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be eligible to obtain a clearance with the U.S. government.</li> </ul> <p><strong>For internal use during the hiring process:</strong></p> <p><strong>Desired Skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in engineering complex production systems.</li> <li>Proven track record in system integration and deployment.</li> <li>Experience working in resource-constrained environments.</li> <li>Strong technical documentation and communication skills.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desired Attributes:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong interest in understanding and solving customer problems.</li> <li>Demonstrable self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.</li> <li>A huge amount of inquisitiveness and interest in how systems work and a willingness to jump in anywhere and spend time debugging.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Culture Fit:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Humility around the problem space and the problem set.</li> <li>Inquisitiveness and interest in meeting customer needs.</li> <li>Comfortability with a fully-remote position and frequent travel requirements.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Compensation: </strong></p> <ul> <li>The base salary range for this role is $130,000–$185,000.
