Job description
TSC is seeking an AEGIS Systems Engineer in Dahlgren, VA. This position supports the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). This role centered on gathering, processing, and analyzing data to assess system performance against certification and operational requirements.
Responsibilities:
· Provide systems engineering support for the development of new AEGIS and Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (ABMD) baselines.
· Analyze system performance data and recommend design or performance improvements based on tactical and operational insights.
· Develop and maintain MATLAB-based tools for data processing and analysis.
· Support certification processes, flight test missions, and configuration control boards through detailed documentation and status reporting.
· Assist with operational readiness reporting and baseline certification efforts.
· Contribute to improvements in data collection methodologies and analytical tools.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics or related technical field and 8 or more years of industry or DoD/DoN experience.
· US citizenship and an active secret clearance (or higher)
· Experience with AEGIS Combat Systems.
· Strong background in systems engineering, test planning, and performance analysis.
· Requires a strong understanding of RADAR engineering and physics and how to optimize the detection and tracking of contacts using the SPY 6 RADAR in the AEGIS Weapons System.
· Experience with testing and development protocol as well as required documentation for program development and system/element qualification and certification.
· Proficient with MATLAB or equivalent for data analysis.
· Willingness and ability to travel to test and operational sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with SCUS, SABE, GICA, and MMSP systems.
· Familiarity with Fiber Optic Delay Line (FODL) systems.
· Previous experience supporting Navy or DoD development and test programs.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical findings.
· Proven critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities to include Systems and Model Based Systems Engineering.
