About the Role
Total Wine & More is seeking a Lead, Supply Chain Transportation & Logistics to join our Supply Chain team in Bethesda, MD. In this role, you will lead and support transportation operations across our store network, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods. You will work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to advise on logistics strategies, resolve operational challenges, and oversee data accuracy and performance tracking. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic supply chain initiatives in a dynamic retail environment. This role will report to the Director of Supply Chain International Transportation & Logistics.
You will
- Lead cross-functional drayage and final mile operations across East and West Coast ports and three national distribution centers, ensuring strategic alignment between transportation execution and retail fulfillment priorities
- Drive enterprise-level cost optimization initiatives by synthesizing operational performance data, evaluating network design scenarios, and influencing carrier strategies based on evolving business requirements
- Lead the selection and ongoing performance management of key logistics drayage partners through ongoing relationship development, strategic rate negotiation, and alignment with service level and financial KPIs
- Oversee transportation planning across distribution nodes, providing analytical direction and strategic intervention to ensure high service levels while adapting to volume fluctuations and supply chain disruptions
- Cultivate strong partnerships with logistics providers and internal distribution stakeholders, proactively resolving conflicts and aligning execution with long-term business objectives through regular executive-level engagement
- Champion weekly operational alignment with distribution centers by offering strategic insights into labor and capacity planning to support cost control, operational agility across warehouse operations, and proactive leadership
You will come with
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred or equivalent years of experience
- 3-6 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations preferred
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex situations and make sound, data-driven decisions
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and familiarity with ERP, WMS, and TMS systems
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

Pay Range: $84,600 -$141,200 Annually
