About the Role

KPMG is seeking a highly skilled Manager, Economic Services – Data Science to join its Economic & Statistical Consulting practice. This role combines advanced data science, econometrics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and economic consulting to solve complex regulatory, policy, and business challenges for public and private sector clients.

The successful candidate will lead the development of AI-powered applications, econometric models, machine learning solutions, and data-driven insights while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative client solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop econometric, statistical, machine learning, and deep learning models for complex economic and policy-related analyses.
• Design and build AI-powered applications, including Large Language Model (LLM) and Agentic AI solutions.
• Develop and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, vector databases, embedding pipelines, and AI orchestration frameworks.
• Create proof-of-concept solutions, prototypes, and production-ready AI/ML applications.
• Build and deploy scalable machine learning and NLP solutions.
• Develop insightful reports, dashboards, visualizations, and presentations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to internal AI tools, reusable frameworks, and client-facing technology solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve business, regulatory, and economic challenges.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, integrity, and client service.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in consulting, quantitative analysis, economic consulting, data science, or research environments.
• Strong expertise in Python or R programming.
• Demonstrated experience building and deploying AI, Machine Learning, NLP, or LLM-based solutions.
• Experience developing econometric and statistical modeling frameworks.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Portfolio showcasing AI/ML projects, GitHub repositories, research, or deployed applications.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing Agentic AI architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, and RAG implementations.
• Experience building production-level AI products and applications.
• Knowledge of cloud-based AI deployment and MLOps practices.
• Consulting or advisory services experience with enterprise clients.
