We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will assist senior attorneys in handling a diverse range of legal matters, ensuring compliance, and supporting the firm’s commitment to delivering exceptional legal services. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case preparation and legal analysis.
- Assist in drafting legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, memoranda, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Support attorneys in managing cases across various practice areas such as family law, protective orders, litigation, landlord-tenant law, and more.
- Participate in client meetings and hearings by preparing necessary documentation and taking detailed notes.
- Review case files, evidence, and legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain organized case management records and assist in tracking deadlines and court filings.
- Conduct legal research related to specific cases or issues using Westlaw or LexisNexis to support litigation strategies.
- Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies and prepare for negotiations or court proceedings.
- Support the firm’s administrative functions by managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, and maintaining confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the state bar is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
- Demonstrated knowledge of multiple practice areas including family law, protective orders, litigation, landlord-tenant law, and more.
- Strong research skills with proficiency in LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
- Experience with legal drafting and administrative tasks within a law office environment is highly desirable.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues critically and provide well-supported recommendations.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, courts, and external agencies.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases efficiently.
