Junior Backend Developer (TypeScript + AI)

About the role

We're hiring a backend developer to own the engineering side of our B2B cold email and lead generation operation. You'll build scrapers, LLM workflows, and the systems that send personalized outreach at scale.

This is not a QA, SDET, or test automation role. If your work involves Selenium, Cypress, Playwright tests, TestNG, JUnit, Postman collections, or anything with "testing" in your job title, this role is not for you. The "automation" in this role means business workflow automation, like "when X happens, automatically do Y" across cold email and lead gen systems.

This is not a Zapier or Make.com role. You will write TypeScript every day.

This is not a Python or ML role. The entire codebase is TypeScript and Node.js. We use AI through API calls to OpenAI and Anthropic, we don't train models. If you're a Python developer or ML engineer, this isn't the right fit unless you have serious TypeScript experience.

This is not a senior role. Budget is ₹16 LPA max. If you earn more than that today, please don't apply.

This is not a generic backend role. We need someone who knows cold email and outbound. If you've never heard of Smartlead, Instantly, or Apollo, this isn't the role.

What we do

We run cold email campaigns for B2B clients. We find target companies, find decision makers in them, write personalized emails using AI, and send them through warmed up inboxes. All of this is code, not manual work.

Stack: TypeScript, Node.js, n8n, Postgres, OpenAI, Anthropic, Apify, Playwright, plus the usual cold email tools (Smartlead, Instantly, Apollo, Clay).

Note: while we use AI heavily, this is API integration work, not model training. If you're looking for an ML engineering role, this isn't a fit.

What you'll do

Build and maintain the systems that run our pipeline. Specifically:

• Scrapers that find target companies and pull contact details of decision makers
• LLM workflows that write personalized emails using real signals about the prospect
• A dashboard to monitor inbox placement, bounces, and domain health across clients
• Triggers that fire outreach when something interesting happens (new hire, funding, tech change)
• Eval suites that score LLM output quality so we can change prompts and models without breaking results

Who you are

You've worked in or around cold email before. Maybe at a lead gen agency, maybe a sales tech startup, maybe as a freelancer for outbound teams. The exact title doesn't matter. What matters is that you understand how cold email actually works and you can write code.

You should know:

• TypeScript well enough to ship production code
• SQL and Postgres
• How to call OpenAI or Anthropic APIs and handle their quirks
• Basic scraping with Apify, Playwright, or Puppeteer
• n8n or a similar tool, used for real things, not just demos
• Cold email fundamentals: deliverability, warmup, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, bounce dynamics

If you don't know all of these, that's fine, but you should know most of them.
