Job Description

About Us

We are a small, progressive K–10 school grounded in inquiry-based, student-centered learning. Our mixed-age classrooms emphasize exploration and curiosity, nurturing the whole child while providing strong foundational instruction in core subjects.

At the heart of our approach is a deep respect for student voice and autonomy. We support children in thinking critically, asking their own questions, and listening to one another with empathy and respect—moving beyond rote memorization toward meaningful understanding. Learning experiences often involve examining artifacts and primary sources, engaging in role plays, and conducting hands-on experiments.

Mathematics instruction is delivered in small, differentiated groups to meet each learner where they are. In language arts, we use the Wilson Fundations program to build strong foundational literacy skills, complemented by rich opportunities for imaginative play, storytelling, dramatic expression, and creative writing. Students engage deeply with language through shared stories, role-play, oral storytelling, and hands-on literacy experiences that make reading and writing meaningful and joyful. Students may respond to shared prompts with individualized expectations that reflect their unique developmental journeys. Our robust academic program is thoughtfully integrated with social-emotional learning to support the growth of the whole child.

We are an inclusive, proudly neurodiverse community. Comfort, joy, adaptability, and flexibility in working with a wide range of learners are central to our culture.

Position Description

We are currently seeking an Early Childhood/Elementary Teacher for our 2026–27 kindergarten, first and second grade classroom. Our classrooms are intentionally small (6–10 students), allowing teachers to deeply understand each learner and differentiate instruction meaningfully.

The Early Childhood/Elementary Teacher will have teaching responsibilities and contribute to the ongoing delivery of the School program and its unique emergent curriculum shaped by the children's interests.

We especially value teachers who bring passions and deep interests into their work with children. Our strongest educators are often artists, scientists, readers, musicians, builders, historians, or naturalists—people who are curious about the world and eager to share that curiosity with students.
