Job Description
As a member of the Applications team at Nielsen, you will be part of an experienced, informal, and enthusiastic scrum team of 6 developers. Your primary responsibility will be the development of highly scalable, flexible, and responsive front-end applications used on high-traffic international websites. The products developed and supported by the Applications team include:
- Team sports Application: An Angular-based tool with Java backend and MS SQL database, used by the Content Team to input sports data like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, etc., in various formats required by clients.
- Supporting Applications: Sports Entity Management, Global Sports Data Explorer, QC Dashboard, and others managing various aspects of comprehensive sports data.
In the upcoming year, you will be involved in projects such as:
- Onboarding new sports like Ice hockey on the Low level Coverage and High Level Coverage match action page in Teamsports.
- Onboarding League and other important entities on Sports Entity Management.
- Creating a more robust queuing mechanism on the front-end using Indexed DB, AWS SQS, and conducting load tests for stability and performance.
You will be working in an Agile and Scrum development environment, utilizing state-of-the-art techniques such as Angular, Java, MS SQL, React, Node.js, and AWS Lambda. The ideal candidate for this role should possess:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Angular and 5 years as a programmer.
- Experience with ES6, AWS, CICD pipelines, writing unit tested code, and playwright regression code.
- Strong teamwork skills, experience in Agile environments, and effective communication abilities.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- Educational background in B.E / B.Tech / BCA / MCA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
