VBM Operator (Vertical Boring Machine Operator)

A VBM Operator is responsible for operating a vertical boring machine to machine large components to precise specifications. The role includes:

• Interpreting and tracing engineering drawings and technical plans
• Setting up and operating CNC and manual machines (including turning operations)
• Using turning processes to shape and finish components
• Monitoring machining processes to ensure accuracy and quality
• Producing finished components to required tolerances
• Performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery
