Product Manager
The Product Manager owns the vision, strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for a product within a broader product group. This role is responsible for end-to-end product delivery, with a primary focus on identifying user needs, defining outcomes, capturing requirements, and prioritizing work that delivers measurable business and user value.
The Product Manager manages the product backlog, makes data-informed prioritization and tradeoff decisions, and works closely with internal and external partners across design, technology, architecture, and business teams. While accountable for delivery, this role emphasizes strategic product definition, feature gap analysis, and the development of clear success metrics (KPIs).

Essential Job Functions
User Insight & Product Definition
- Develop a strong understanding of the business, product domain, users, and relevant data to inform product decisions
- Define product vision, strategy, and requirements; identify feature gaps and unmet user needs
- Leverage qualitative and quantitative data to identify opportunities and inform priorities
- Conduct experiments and participate in primary research to uncover additional user value
Product Portfolio Management
- Own and maintain the product roadmap at the product level
- Make prioritization and tradeoff decisions aligned to strategy, capacity, and user value
- Demonstrate deep expertise within the assigned product domain
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholder teams
- Coordinate dependencies with interdependent teams
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, UI/UX, architecture, and technology teams to drive product success
- Participate in intake and demand management processes for the product domain
Product Planning & Prioritization
- Lead product planning by developing clear requirements (user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases)
- Maintain a prioritized backlog aligned to product strategy, user value, and delivery capacity
- Use data and analytics to inform backlog prioritization and planning decisions
- Partner with UI/UX to define and guide the product’s user experience
- Define release goals, prioritization, implementation strategies, and iteration plans
Product Development
- Facilitate the development process by reviewing demos and validating acceptance criteria
- Provide UX/UI approval for the assigned product
- Track product-level development progress and identify defects or risks
- Proactively identify delivery or quality issues; assess options, recommend solutions, and communicate plans to leadership
- Coordinate and support formal user acceptance testing (UAT), as needed
Operate & Optimize
- Partner with internal and external teams to identify, triage, and resolve product-level user issues
- Define and evolve metrics to measure product success; collaborate with technology teams to improve reporting and monitoring
- Actively monitor performance metrics and trends with stakeholder teams
- Gather ongoing user feedback to identify enhancement opportunities, gaps, and potential end-of-life decisions
- Represent the product team in stakeholder discussions and forums
- Participate in business reviews; provide product and feature performance insights and contribute to business cases
- Stay current on industry trends, research, and best practices in product management and technology
Minimum Qualifications
- Required 3 days/week onsite in Rockville, MD or Tysons, VA for a hybrid work schedule.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in product management, project management, business analysis, program management, or product marketing
- 3+ years of experience in product and/or experience management
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong business acumen
- Experience working in Agile software development environments
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally within large organizations
- Experience working closely with senior leadership
- Proven ability to translate data and insights into actionable outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Financial Services industry
- Strong financial acumen
