Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Smart Home & Automation Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, programming, troubleshooting, and servicing smart home systems including security, audio/video, networking, lighting control, and automation platforms.
This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent customer service abilities.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure smart home systems (Control4, Savant, Crestron, etc.)
- Install home theater systems, distributed audio, and TV mounting
- Set up and configure networking equipment (routers, switches, access points)
- Install security systems including cameras, alarms, and access control
- Program and troubleshoot automation systems
- Run and terminate low-voltage wiring (Cat6, speaker wire, coax, etc.)
- Provide on-site troubleshooting and service calls
- Train clients on system use and functionality
- Maintain clean and professional job sites
- Document installations and maintain accurate job records
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in smart home, low-voltage, or AV installation (preferred)
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, routers, WiFi systems)
- Experience with Control4, Lutron, Crestron, Savant, or similar platforms (preferred)
- Knowledge of security camera systems and NVR setup
- Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
