Job Description
The contractor shall develop proposed local amendments to model construction codes for consideration by technical staff and decision‐makers.
- The contractor shall provide legal support for the development, review, and adoption of construction codes, including analysis of statutory authority and regulatory requirements.
- The contractor shall evaluate the legal and practical implications of proposed code changes, including consistency with D.C. law, enforceability, and potential impacts on stakeholders.
- The contractor shall research and analyze local amendments to model construction codes that have been proposed, considered, or adopted by peer jurisdictions, and prepare comparative summaries to inform staff recommendations and policy development
- The contractor shall advise staff throughout the code development cycle, including preparation for public meetings, hearings, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- The contractor shall coordinate with technical staff, subject‐matter experts, and external stakeholders to ensure legal clarity and alignment between policy objectives and code language.
