Plumber/Pipefitter

A plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting water supply systems, drainage systems, sewage lines, sanitary fixtures, and related plumbing equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities.

Job Description – Plumber

Position: Plumber

Department: Maintenance / Engineering

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Facility Manager

Key Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain pipelines, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures such as sinks, toilets, taps, and water heaters.

Inspect plumbing systems to identify leaks, blockages, faults, or required maintenance.

Carry out preventive maintenance of water supply and drainage systems.

Repair and maintain pumps, pipelines, overhead tanks, and underground water systems.

Ensure proper functioning of sewage treatment connections and storm water drainage systems.

Read and interpret plumbing drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.

Coordinate with civil, electrical, and mechanical teams for maintenance activities.

Ensure compliance with safety standards and work permit systems.

Respond quickly to emergency plumbing breakdowns and leakages.

Maintain records of maintenance activities and material usage.

Required Skills

Knowledge of plumbing tools, pipe fittings, and installation methods

Understanding of water distribution and drainage systems

Ability to read plumbing drawings and layouts

Basic knowledge of pumps and valves

Troubleshooting and repair skills

Safety awareness and preventive maintenance knowledge

Qualifications

ITI in Plumbing or relevant trade certification

2–5 years of experience in plumbing maintenance (industrial/facility preferred)

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹19,000.00 per month
