Job Description
- May perform venipuncture and microtainer collection accurately and efficiently. Ensures specimens are correctly labeled and orders are received properly.
- Processes and prepares laboratory specimens for testing, including separating specimens by centrifugation.
- May receive and set up primary specimen cultures, inoculating petri dishes for bacterial growth.
- May document equipment temperatures, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure proper functioning of laboratory equipment.
- Monitors reference lab reports and requests results that are overdue. Maintains appropriate inventory levels and places supply orders as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills [Required]
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask [Required]
- Ability and willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment [Required]
- Phlebotomy both venipuncture and capillary collections [Required]
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, etc. [Required]
Education
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:
- 2+ experience in laboratory setting as laboratory assistant or phlebotomist [Required]

- Medical Lab Associate (MLA-ASCP) [Preferred] OR
- Phlebotomy Technician (PBT(ASCP)) [Preferred]
