Role: Progress DBA and Mongo

Experience: 8-10 years

Location: Hyderabad, Bangalore, Noida, Pune, Chennai

Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Progress / QAD Database Administrator.

• Strong experience supporting QAD Enterprise Edition (EE), QAD Standard Edition, and lower versions of Progress OpenEdge.
• In-depth understanding of Progress OpenEdge RDBMS concepts and core DBA activities.
• Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux environments, including database installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Database setup and upgrades
• Backup & recovery strategies
• Disaster Recovery (DR) and replication
• Extent management and storage planning
• Schema additions and dump & load activities
• Experience in generating and analysing database, table, index, and performance reports.
• Good-to-have exposure to MongoDB or Sybase databases.
• Ability to ensure database systems operate securely, reliably, and efficiently in production environments.

Administer and maintain Progress OpenEdge / QAD databases across development, test, and production environments.

• Perform database refreshes, migrations, and environment cloning activities.
• Monitor & tune DB performance: - table, index, and query optimization.
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) processes to ensure high availability.
• Handle database growth through extent additions and storage planning.
• Ensure DB security, access controls, & organizational compliance standards.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolution.

Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and functional teams to support QAD ERP operations.

• Prepare and maintain DBA documentation, SOPs, and audit artifacts.
