Position Summary
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing accounting operations across multiple client engagements. This role ensures accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with internal controls, and consistency in accounting practices across teams. The Controller provides financial insight and guidance to both internal management and client leadership teams.
The position requires strong technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and mentor accounting staff both in the U.S. and offshore (Tarsus India).
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all accounting functions for assigned clients.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and management reports.
- Conduct and document budget vs. actual reviews.
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls and compliance procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within client workflows.
- Maintain and formalize accounting and financial policies and procedures.
- Lead and supervise accounting staff, including offshore team members.
- Support audit processes and coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers.
- Oversee compliance for state and local sales tax, property tax, and other business-related filings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients and priorities simultaneously.
- Prior experience in staffing agency accounting strongly preferred.
- Experience working with offshore teams and managing global resources.
- Proficiency in multiple general ledger systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
