Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Assistant Manager – Utility to oversee utility operations and ensure uninterrupted functioning of all plant/facility utility systems. The role involves managing maintenance activities, optimizing utility consumption, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of utility systems including HVAC, boilers, compressors, chillers, DG sets, water systems, and electrical utilities.
- Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of all utility equipment.
- Monitor utility consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, EHS, and external vendors for smooth utility operations.
- Maintain documentation related to utility maintenance, calibration, audits, and statutory compliance.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Lead troubleshooting activities and root cause analysis for equipment failures.
- Support utility-related projects, installations, and commissioning activities.
- Manage AMC/service contractors and ensure timely service delivery.
- Prepare MIS reports and utility performance metrics for management review.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- 6–8 years of relevant experience in utility operations and maintenance in manufacturing/pharma/FMCG/industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of utility equipment and facility management systems.
- Understanding of safety regulations, energy management, and statutory compliance.
- Good leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance management systems.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in GMP-regulated environments will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of HVAC validation, water systems, and electrical distribution.
- Ability to handle teams and vendor management effectively.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
