We are currently having an Accountant position open with our client Custom Accounting.

Firm Overview

Custom Accounting is a full-service accountancy firm based in Cootamundra NSW with offices in the country and in the Sydney CBD. They provide high quality accounting, tax planning, financial and advisory services to Australian businesses, investors, families and individuals.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist with preparation of financial statements
• Perform basic bookkeeping tasks/reconciliations
• Provide general support to accounting team
• Basic understanding of accounting principles (through study or coursework)
• Preparation and filing statuary monthly and quarterly returns.
• Assistance in the preparation and analysis of tax-related information.
• Ensuring jobs are completed effectively by meeting technical standards and deadlines.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Any graduation or post-graduation degree in Accounts or Finance.
• 2 years of experience in Xero is preferred.
• Prior Australian work experience is preferred but not essential.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally
• Flexibility and adaptability when managing competing deadlines.
• Strong organisational skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Able to work independently and to use their own initiative.
