Our client is one of Canada’s Big Five global financial institutions, a leader in personal and commercial banking and a global powerhouse in wealth management. This role is within their Capital Markets division, where you will be building the next generation of institutional trading desktops.

We are looking for a Senior React Developer with deep experience in high-performance data grids and desktop interoperability. You will be responsible for developing the "mission control" interfaces used by professional traders to execute billion-dollar transactions in real-time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Institutional Grade UIs: Develop and maintain complex, real-time trading dashboards using React and TypeScript within an OpenFin environment.
  • Master the Data Grid: Architect and optimize high-frequency data blotters using AG Grid Enterprise, ensuring seamless performance even when handling millions of rows with sub-second updates.
  • Desktop Interoperability: Leverage OpenFin’s APIs (InterAppBus, FDC3) to enable seamless communication between disparate web and legacy applications on the trader’s desktop.
  • Performance Engineering: Optimize front-end rendering and memory management to ensure zero-lag interactivity for high-velocity market data.
  • Collaborate & Lead: Partner with quantitative researchers and traders to translate complex financial workflows into intuitive, high-performance user experiences.

Technical Requirements

  • Expert React & TypeScript: 5+ years of professional experience building enterprise-scale applications.
  • AG Grid Power User: Proven experience implementing AG Grid Enterprise for complex use cases (grouping, aggregation, server-side data models, and custom cell rendering).
  • OpenFin Expertise: Experience (or strong working knowledge) of the OpenFin container, including windowing, notifications, and interoperability standards (FDC3).
  • Visualization Skills: Proficiency with charting libraries (e.g., D3.js, Highcharts) to visualize market trends and portfolio analytics.
  • Financial Domain Knowledge: Direct experience in capital markets, wealth management, or fintech is a significant advantage. You should be familiar with blotters, order entry, and real-time execution workflows.

The Perks

  • Stability with Flexibility: 6-month full-time contract with a specific strategic intent to extend long-term for high performers.
  • Cutting-Edge Stack: Work with the "gold standard" of fintech tools (OpenFin, AG Grid) on a platform that moves the needle on global markets.
  • Toronto Financial District: 2 days per week onsite at a premier financial hub, offering the best of hybrid flexibility and professional collaboration.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is between 75/hr to 100/hr depending on overall experience. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
