Job Description
Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
📍 Vancouver, BC | Hybrid (In-Office Collaboration Required - 3 days in office/week)
⏳ 6-Month Contract | High Chance of Extension
Pay: $37/hr-$40/hr (T4 only)
What You’ll Do
- Design and execute end-to-end testing strategies across cloud-based services
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test cases
- Participate in requirements analysis, design reviews, and risk assessments
- Track defects and perform deep software quality and stability analysis
- Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, DevOps, and Product teams
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, performance, scalability, and resiliency
- Stay current on modern testing, cloud, and automation best practices
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement
Must-Have Qualifications
- Application testing experience (manual + automated)
- Test automation development experience
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Groovy, Shell, or similar)
- 1+ years of professional experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test
- Experience designing or contributing to test frameworks
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Containerization and microservices architectures
- Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with .NET environments
- Experience testing distributed or cloud-native systems
