Job Summary
The Solar Installation, Maintenance & Layout Planning Technician is responsible for site survey, system layout planning, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar PV systems. The role requires both field execution skills and basic design/planning capability.
Key Responsibilities 1. Site Survey & Layout Planning (NEW – Important Role Upgrade)
- Conduct site surveys (rooftop / ground-mounted projects)
- Measure site dimensions, orientation, shadow analysis
- Prepare basic solar layout plans (panel placement, tilt, spacing)
- Optimize panel positioning for maximum generation
- Assist in capacity calculation (kW sizing)
- Coordinate with design team for final drawings
2. Installation
- Install solar PV modules, mounting structures
- Perform DC & AC wiring, inverter connections
- Install DCDB, ACDB, earthing systems
- Ensure layout is executed as per approved design
3. Testing & Commissioning
- Conduct system testing and commissioning
- Verify inverter functionality and generation output
- Ensure compliance with electrical standards
4. Maintenance (O&M)
- Preventive and corrective maintenance
- Cleaning, inspection, and system performance checks
- Fault detection and repair
5. Troubleshooting
- Diagnose issues in panels, wiring, inverters
- Rectify faults efficiently with minimal downtime
6. Safety & Documentation
- Follow all electrical and site safety norms
- Maintain installation reports and site records
- Use PPE and ensure safe work practices
Skills Required
- Solar PV system knowledge (rooftop & ground mount)
- Ability to plan panel layout & system sizing
- Basic understanding of AutoCAD / layout drawing (preferred)
- Knowledge of DC/AC electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret solar drawings
- Strong troubleshooting skills
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma / B.Tech (Electrical preferred)
- Solar certification (added advantage)
- Experience:
- Fresher (with training in solar design)
- 1–4 years preferred
Tools & Software Knowledge
- Measuring tools (tape, laser meter)
- Electrical tools (multimeter, clamp meter)
- Basic software:
- AutoCAD (preferred)
- Excel (for load calculation)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
