Engagement type: Full-time OR Part-time / freelance (both considered) Location: Full-time → On-site, Sector 67, Mohali. Part-time → remote, with mandatory daily sync (see below).

Reports to: SEO Manager (onboarding by end of May 2026), with additional editorial oversight from the CEO and senior SEO team.

⚠ Non-negotiable expectation — please read before applying. Whether you join full-time or part-time, you'll be on a 30-minute daily call with the SEO Manager and team to align on briefs, review work in progress, share research, and course-correct. This is how we keep content sharp, accurate, and on-brief. If you are a freelance writer juggling multiple clients and cannot commit to a fixed daily slot in IST working hours, this is not the right fit.

About the role

We're a B2B accounting and bookkeeping services company that supports US clients — CPA firms, Real Estate Businesses, SME’s. Our two websites are outsourcedbookeeping.com and backofficeaccountants.com .

We need a content writer who can produce high-quality, well-researched, long-form articles for a US business audience. The bar is not "blog posts that exist." The bar is content a CPA partner or a real estate CFO would actually read, trust, and share.

If your typical output is generic 800-word listicles, this isn't the role. If you take research, citations, and craft seriously, read on.

What you'll write

• Vertical-specific long-form articles (1,500 – 3,000 words) on topics like real estate accounting (Yardi, AppFolio workflows), CPA back-office services, QuickBooks/Sage/NetSuite/Sage Intacct best practices, US sales tax, payroll, 1099 compliance, and similar.
• Pillar pages and money pages — the cornerstone content that establishes our authority.
• Comparison pieces, case-study style explainers, software walkthroughs.
• Occasionally: thought-leadership-style content for the CEO and senior team (ghostwritten from interviews).

You'll be briefed by the SEO Manager with target keywords, intent, and structure — and the daily 30-min call is where briefs get clarified, research gets aligned, and feedback gets shared. You're expected to bring research depth, accurate writing, and editorial judgment.

What we expect in a piece you submit

• Original research and citations. Every factual claim links to a reputable source — IRS, AICPA, GAAP guidance or software vendor documentation or industry reports, peer-reviewed where applicable. Not other blogs from different websites.
• Expert-grade accuracy. US accounting and tax content is YMYL territory — errors cost trust and rankings. If you don't know something, you ask before writing it.
• A clear point of view. Not a Wikipedia summary. The reader should walk away with something they didn't already know.
• Clean US English. Crisp, professional, no fluff. No "in today's fast-paced world."
• AI used as a tool, not as the author. We're not anti-AI — every good writer uses it for research, structuring, and editing. We are anti-AI-slop. The final piece must read like an expert human wrote it, not a model regurgitated it.

What we're looking for

Required:

• 2+ years of professional writing experience, ideally in B2B, SaaS, finance, or services.
• Portfolio with at least 3 long-form pieces (1500+ words) you wrote, with bylines or attribution we can verify.
• Demonstrable comfort with research and citation hygiene.
• Strong written US English.
• Reliable on deadlines.

Strongly preferred (bonus, not required):

• Background or genuine interest in accounting, finance, real estate, or US business operations.
• Experience writing for a CPA, accounting software, fintech, or B2B service brand.
• Familiarity with E-E-A-T and Google's Helpful Content guidelines (you should be able to talk about why you structure pieces a certain way, not just how).
• Awareness of search intent — informational vs. commercial vs. transactional pieces require different structures.
• Comfort interviewing internal SMEs and turning their expertise into publishable content.

Not required:

• An SEO certification. Your portfolio tells us more than any certificate.
• Native English speaker status. Indian writers who write great US English are absolutely welcome. We hire on output, not background.
• Graphic design, social media management, or video skills. Those aren't part of this role.

What this role is not

• Not a "content marketer" or "content strategist" role — you'll be doing the writing.
• Not a quantity-over-quality role. We'd rather have 4 excellent pieces a month than 20 mediocre ones.
• Not a "ChatGPT prompt operator" role. If your workflow is "type prompt → copy output → submit" you'll be filtered out at the first assignment.
• Not a "drop the draft and disappear" freelance role. We work as a team. If daily collaboration isn't your style, this won't fit.

Shortlisted candidates will be given a paid writing test: one 1,000-1,200-word piece on a topic from our verticals, with full citations, in 5 working days. Payment will be made regardless of whether we move forward, provided the piece is delivered.

Practical details

• Office (for full-time): Sector 67, Mohali. (Head office: Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab.)
• Working hours: Day shift (10:00 AM – 6:30 PM IST) for full-time. Flexible for part-time.
• Trial period: First 2 months will be a working trial — we want to see consistent quality delivery before making it long-term.
