Job Description

This role is responsible for the precise diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of customer vehicles in accordance with OEM standards. It focuses on ensuring mechanical reliability and safety while maintaining high productivity levels within a professional workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups per the maintenance schedule.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using advanced OEM diagnostic scanners and specialized hand tools.
  • Execute complex repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, and suspension components as specified in the job card.
  • Ensure all repair work is completed within the Standard Labor Time (SLT) to optimize workshop throughput.
  • Conduct final road tests to verify repair quality and ensure the vehicle is safe for customer delivery.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work bay, adhering strictly to 5S principles and safety protocols.
  • Accurately document all parts used and labor hours spent within the Dealer Management System (DMS).
  • Identify and report any additional repair requirements found during inspection to the Service Advisor for customer approval.

Requirements

  • Valid ITI or Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience working in an authorized OEM dealership or a reputed multi-brand workshop.
  • In-depth knowledge of internal combustion engines and automotive electrical circuits.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, circuit diagrams, and service bulletins.
  • Possession of a valid four-wheeler driving license.
  • Physical stamina to work in a high-intensity workshop environment for 6 days a week.

Preferred

  • OEM-specific technical certifications (Level 1 or Level 2).
  • Prior experience with wheel alignment and balancing machinery.
  • Basic understanding of Electric Vehicle (EV) high-voltage safety and components.

Skills

Technical: Diagnostic Scanning, Engine Overhauling, Brake & Suspension Repair, Electrical Troubleshooting, DMS Data Entry

Qualifications

Education: ITI (Motor Mechanic Vehicle) or Diploma in Automobile Engineering

Experience: 2 to 5 years in an automotive workshop

Certifications: OEM Technical Training Certification, Pollution Under Control (PUC) operation (Optional)

Work Environment

On-site authorized service center with a standard 6-day work week (9 AM - 6 PM). The environment is fast-paced and requires strict adherence to safety and PPE guidelines.

Growth Opportunities

Technicians can advance to Senior Technician or Master Technician roles, or transition into supervisory positions such as Shop Floor Coordinator or Service Advisor based on performance and OEM certification levels.
