ATN Health is hiring a careful, organized Remote Medical Assistant to support clinical operations from a distance. The position centers on pre-visit patient outreach, thorough documentation, and helping ensure the rooming process for in-office appointments runs smoothly. Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification must be in place at the time of joining
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment
- 1-2 years of experience in healthcare as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience using EMR/EHR systems, with EPIC preferred
- At least 6 months of call center experience preferred
- 1-2 years of case management or care coordination experience preferred
- Strong computer skills and comfort working with multiple healthcare software platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities along with strong customer service skills
- Capability to work on your own and manage time efficiently
- A dependable home office with a second monitor, high-speed internet, and a quiet private workspace
Responsibilities
- Carry out pre-visit phone check-ins with patients, spending about 7-8 hours each day in patient-facing calls
- Collect and record pre-visit details such as medication lists, social determinants of health, and care gaps
- Verify the purpose of each visit and assess whether the patient may qualify for assistance or referral services
- Work with providers, clinical teams, and office staff to speed up the rooming process for in-office appointments
- Complete roughly 30-50 calls per day to support 12-16 patient interactions and keep registration moving efficiently
- Protect patient privacy, confidentiality, and safety while following all legal and regulatory requirements
- Help patients better understand their care plans and connect them with available resources
- Conduct health and social assessments to spot risks and identify support needs
- Guide patients throughout their care experience and help maintain a positive service experience
- Use several EMR/EHR systems to enter information, review records, and document patient interactions accurately
