Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid and active Special Education Teaching Certification
• Ability to instruct effectively in a hospital environment
• In-person availability, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
• Dependable transportation to Childrens National Hospital (parking is not reimbursed)
• Previous hospital or homebound educational experience is advantageous
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one hour of personalized instruction daily to a student in a hospital setting
• Utilize one hour of daily paid planning time to tailor content and strategies
• Create a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere in alignment with IEP goals
• Work collaboratively with hospital staff and ACPS specialists to ensure seamless support
• Adapt instructional methods to meet the changing needs of the student
