Job Description:
Salary $21.92/hour ($45,594/year) up to $24.657/hour ($51,287/year)
Job duties and responsibilities include:
- Answers calls, receives visitors, manages correspondence, answers inquiries and facilitates interoffice communications
- Disseminates information to Senators and Legislative staff along with external contacts such as constituents, the media, lobbyists and others
- Monitors and routes email and mail, reviews with Senator and tracks correspondence
- Maintains confidential correspondence, including with constituents, subject matter and legislative files
- Maintains Senator's calendar and schedule
- Maintains office supplies, equipment and inventory
- Monitors news media for issues and information related to legislative business
- Provides general support to office visitors
- Performs constituent services
Other duties and responsibilities may include:
- Monitoring legislation and public hearings
- Coordinates bill hearings with Senator's calendar and stakeholders
- Maintains constituent mailing list. Assembles and sends mass mailings
- Assists with communications such as press releases, newsletters and digital communications
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Knowledge of office computer applications
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with Senators, Legislative staff, stakeholders and the public
- Ability to work independently, organize and manage work while maintaining confidentiality
- Ability to produce quality work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule including working nights and weekends
