LOCATION OF POSITION

MDH Kent County Health Department, Chestertown MD\r\n

Main Purpose of Job

The purpose of this position is the manage and supervise the Kent County Health Department's 24/7 substance use disorder facility, the A.F. Whitsitt Center.\r\n

POSITION DUTIES

Position Duties include, but are not limited to:\r\n\r\n\r\n Directing, managing and evaluating the daily operation of the 24/7 Residential Addiction Program which includes staff supervision and development, census management, marketing the program and facility management. \r\n Operating the program within budgetary parameters and guidelines to ensure all accreditation and licensing are acquired and maintained.\r\n Participating in Emergency Preparedness activities for the facility and the broader Health Department.\r\n Leading meetings with staff, supervisors and specialized groups.\r\n Participating in continuous quality improvement and utilization review activities, including data collection and analysis.\r\n Overseeing Prescriber Consultants.\r\n Preparing budget and grant requests as needed to maintain program operations; managing grants and submitting contract deliverables reporting.\r\n Developing, fostering, maintaining appropriate relationships with other agencies and individuals, including but not limited to the criminal justice system, hospitals and physicians, employers, social service agencies and other county health departments.\r\n\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and six years of health or human services administrative or professional experience, including two years at a supervisory or managerial level.\r\n\r\n\r\nA Master's degree from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the general experience and a Doctorate will substitute for two years of the general experience. Additional experience will substitute on a year-for-year basis for the college degree.\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Desired candidates should possess the following experience:\r\n\r\n\r\n Effectively managing multiple teams\r\n With licensure, regulatory, auditing and quality improvement systems in health care\r\n Effectively managing substance use disorder treatment\r\n Effectively managing a 24/7 residential facility\r\n\r\n\r\n
