This role is the operational backbone of our security services, focused on delivering high-quality technical support and keeping SpaceX’s security infrastructure running smoothly. You will primarily manage the security ticket queue, troubleshoot issues for employees and systems, and handle day-to-day operational tasks that support our security tools and services. You will be encouraged to automate repetitive tasks, improve processes, and gradually take on more complex security engineering work.  RESPONSIBILITIES:  <ul> <li> Manage and triage the Information Security ticket queue, providing timely and effective technical support to SpaceX employees and stakeholders. </li> <li> Perform operational tasks required to keep security platforms and services reliable and available. </li> <li> Develop scripts and lightweight automation to streamline common technical support and operational processes.</li> <li>Document procedures, run books, and troubleshooting guides to improve team efficiency.</li> <li> Collaborate with Security Engineers to investigate issues, implement improvements, and contribute to larger security projects.</li> <li>Support and maintain security services and tools, including hardware security keys (YubiKeys), SSH infrastructure, certificate management, and access control systems. </li> <li> Analyze software to be installed on SpaceX systems for signs of malicious behavior.</li> </ul> BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:  <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in cyber security, computer science, engineering, information technology, or other STEM discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience in information security in lieu of a degree.</li> <li> Experience with operating system internals for Linux, Windows, or macOS platforms.</li> <li>Experience with scripting including, but not limited to Bash, Python, PowerShell, or other programming languages. </li> </ul> PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:  <ul> <li>Ability to manage a ticket queue and deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced technical environment.</li> <li>Experience with Linux systems administration and troubleshooting. </li> <li> Experience with scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) and software engineering practices. </li> <li>Understanding of information security principles (authentication, access control, encryption, etc.), including malware/software analysis. </li> <li> Experience automating repetitive support tasks and building internal tools.</li> <li> Familiarity with security tools commonly used in enterprise environments.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with YubiKeys, SSH, public key infrastructure, and basic security concepts.</li> <li>Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical users.</li> <li> Strong problem-solving mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.</li> <li> Ability to thrive in a high-growth, dynamic fast paced environment.</li> </ul> ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  <ul> <li> Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.</li> <li>This role requires you to be onsite; remote or hybrid work will not be considered.</li> <li>Travel may be required; occasionally visit other SpaceX locations (up to 10%). </li> </ul> COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:         Pay range:            Security Analyst/Level I: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year     Security Analyst/Level II: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00/per year Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
