Job Description

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, SENSORS (STARSHIP AVIONICS)
The Sensor Development team designs, builds, and tests innovative sensing solutions that are critical to making life on Mars possible. The Sensor Electrical Design Engineer will work on this highly interdisciplinary team to design specialized electronics for physical sensors, such as pressure, acceleration, rotation, etc.
Primary responsibility is to design and develop electrical interface circuitry for sensors for SpaceX’s vehicles. Responsibilities will include circuit design, circuit layout and component selection, circuit and device testing
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and simulate low-noise circuits for sensors
- Complete board layout and electrical characterization
- Software development experience in Matlab, Python, or C/C++
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Experience designing and testing electronic circuits
- Experience interfacing with microcontrollers for measurement and/or control applications
- Experience with PCB assembly process
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in circuit design
- Experience with electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, network analyzers, signal generators, DAQs, spectrum analyzers, and RF test equipment
- Knowledge of sensing technologies/sensing mechanisms
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Extended hours and weekend work may be required to support critical project and mission milestones
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Electrical Engineer/Level I: $105,000.00 - $120,000.00/per year
Electrical Engineer/Level II: $115,000.00 - $145,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year.
