The Opportunity

We are looking for a Intermediate Bookkeeper to join our growing team of professionals. This is a permanent full-time position which is structured as 100% remote. Candidates from all across Canada are welcome to apply as we support fully remote positions regardless of province or territory.

You will deliver full-cycle bookkeeping and month-end accounting for Southbrook Accounting’s Standard and Support package clients — accurately, on schedule, and with minimal supervision — across both Canadian and U.S. business engagements. The Intermediate Bookkeeper is the engine behind audit-ready financials, on-time remittances, clean monthly closes, and client experiences strong enough to earn 5-star reviews. This position involves 100% remote working.

What You Will Do

· Full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple client files — Canadian and U.S.

· Monthly bank, credit card, and line of credit reconciliations.

· Process and clear bank feeds; manage Hubdocs/Dext and document workflows.

· Monthly sales and purchase reconciliations, including accruals and prepayments.

· HST tracking, reconciliations, and filings.

· 20-day month-end close, including CPA-reviewed P&L and Balance Sheet.

· Payroll source deductions, government remittances, ROEs, and T4s.

· Maintain audit-ready records and respond to CPA review notes.

· Cross-train and document — strengthen the bench, not just your own files.

What You Bring

· 8–10+ years full-cycle bookkeeping experience in QuickBooks Online.

· Bookkeeping certification — CPB, IPBC, or equivalent (required).

· QBO ProAdvisor certified (required).

· Working knowledge of both Canadian and U.S. business bookkeeping.

· Strong skills in Hubdocs/Dext, Plooto, spreadsheets, and ERP systems.

· Payroll experience including ROEs, T4s, and government remittances.

· A track record of managing multiple client files concurrently and hitting deadlines.
