Job Description
SMX is seeking a mid-level Information Assurance Linux System Administrator. The Administrator will support our NAWCAD customer at Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor ticketing system for tasks
- Monitor/Manage/Schedule/Forecast Upcoming IA Work
- Work with a large variety of Data Center teams to alleviate Cyber findings and concerns
- Attend collaboration meetings to address STIG/EvaluateSTIG discrepancies
- Complete STIG checklists
- ACAS scanning and reports
- Support vulnerability detection, remediations, and mitigations
Required Skills/Experience
- Clearance Required: Top Secret
- Interim TS required to start
- 2-4 years of Linux/Unix administration experience
- Experience in DoD Information Assurance/Cyber policy and procedures to include hardening of systems, implementing STIGs, and scanning
- Knowledge of NIST guidelines and Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- DoD 8140 compliant certification (Examples of minimum acceptable certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, G SEC, Security+ CE, SSCP)
- Detail-oriented and able to work multiple assignments autonomously and in a team setting
- Must be able to interact with peers, management, and senior engineers in a constantly evolving environment to ensure a positive customer experience and atmosphere in the workplace

$73,100—$121,800 USD
