Job description

Sinai Health is looking for an experienced Treasury Analyst, Finance to join our team. As an integral member of the Finance Department, the Treasury Officer is an important role in strategic planning and managing operations on a wide range of banking, investment, debt, insurance and general accounting functions to ensure Sinai Health has the appropriate cash flows to support operations, safeguard assets, and ensure compliance with debt covenants. The Treasury Officer is also a core player in investment and financing matters.

In this role you will:

  • Monitor daily cash balances and working capital requirements to support Sinai Health operations
  • Maintain and enhance short-term cash flow forecasts, working closely with other areas of Finance and our business partners to improve the accuracy and timeliness of input data and assumptions
  • Support the development and maintenance of the long-term cash flow projections for budgeting and planning purposes
  • Assist in monitoring short-term investment activities, including tracking performance and compliance with internal policies
  • Support debt-related activities, including covenant monitoring, compliance, reporting and coordinate annual credit rating review activities
  • Identify, plan, and support financial risks, including foreign exchange, interest rate exposures and cash flow mitigation risks
  • Assist in evaluating risk mitigation strategies and preparing related analysis
  • Support the management of relationships with banking partners and assist with coordination of banking services
  • Prepare treasury reports and dashboards for Finance leadership on a weekly basis, including cash balances, forecast updates, and investment summaries
  • Support the preparation of materials for Finance leadership and assist in the communication of treasury insights
  • Lead and/or participate on special projects requiring working capital, financing or investment, including assessing strategic, market and financial risks; development of pro-forma cash flow and financial statements and impact analysis on working capital and covenants
  • Support internal and external audit activities, including providing documentation and responding to inquiries
  • Identify opportunities to improve treasury processes through automation, standardization and system enhancements, and contribute to automation and efficiency initiatives
  • Support the use and optimization of treasury systems and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP S/4HANA)
  • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required

Job Requirements:

Mandatory

  • A university degree in business (or related discipline) from a recognized and accredited educational institution
  • 3-5 years of experience in a large complex organization
  • Applicants with proven equivalent and related training and experience may also be considered

Preferred

  • Recognized professional designation: CFA preferred, CTP and CRM considered an asset
  • Experience with Treasury systems and SAP (highly desirable)

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong business acumen with experience in business management, accounting, financial planning, performance measurement and budgeting functions
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate complex financial issues to a broad and diverse audience
  • Ability to work and thrive in a changing environment while experiencing financial constraints
  • Capacity to build partnerships, work collaboratively and effectively communicate to diverse groups both within and external to Sinai Health
  • Experience with change management; ability to proactively identify issues and generate solutions by critically assessing procedures and challenging the status quo
  • A strong service orientation with a commitment to advance the mission of Sinai Health
  • Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment, with a focus on strong customer service skills, team building and development
