Role Description This is an unpaid, remote internship role for an Animator Intern at SignAI. The Animator Intern will support the creation of high-quality animations that visually represent sign language interactions and AI-powered features. Day-to-day tasks include designing and animating character movements, refining motion capture data, and collaborating on storyboards that communicate user journeys and product concepts. The intern will work closely with designers, developers, and product team members to produce motion graphics for demos, social content, and product explainers. The role also involves iterating on feedback, maintaining consistent visual style, and managing animation assets in shared repositories.
Qualifications
- Animation skills, including character animation and Motion Graphics, with a strong sense of timing, movement, and visual storytelling.
- Experience or interest in Motion Capture workflows, including cleaning, refining, and integrating captured motion into animation projects.
- Ability to develop clear Storyboarding sequences that communicate narrative flow, user interactions, and product concepts.
- Strong Communication skills for collaborating in a remote team, giving and receiving feedback, and documenting animation decisions.
- Familiarity with industry-standard animation tools (e.g., After Effects, Blender, Maya, or similar) and basic graphic design principles.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in animation, design, media, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Interest in accessibility, assistive technology, and inclusive design; familiarity with Deaf culture or sign languages is a plus.
- Ability to manage time independently, meet deadlines in a remote setting, and maintain an organized digital workflow.
