Role Overview:
You will be responsible for performing and supervising disassembly, assembly, repair, and manufacturing support activities for steam turbines and related sub-assemblies. This hands-on role requires strong technical expertise in turbine overhaul, precision machining, and adherence to quality and EHS standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand scope of work and develop process plans for turbine repair and assembly
- Perform and lead disassembly and assembly of turbines, rotors, blades, and auxiliaries
- Carry out precision machining, shrink-fit operations, and ensure dimensional accuracy
- Execute critical repair activities for turbine components such as blades, rotors, casings, valve assemblies etc.
- Support continual improvement in repair processes and techniques
Team Coordination:
- Guide service technicians and helpers during repair and assembly activities
- Review daily workload and ensure timely execution of projects
Documentation & Quality:
- Maintain technical documentation: assembly drawings, BOM, part lists
- Coordinate with quality team to ensure compliance with technical specifications
Time Management:
- Track material movement and evaluate planned vs. actual timelines for each activity
EHS Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and implement EHS guidelines
- Coordinate risk mitigation and timely calibration of lifting tools & tackles
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in turbine repair and assembly (preferably Large steam turbines)
- Certifications in Lean / Six Sigma or EHS compliance (preferred)
