Lab Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for science and laboratory work, with a strong ability to analyze data and ensure quality control measures are met.

As our Lab Technician, you will report directly to our Quality Manager, and your duties will encompass but not be limited to the following:

Perform laboratory testing at various points of the process

Moisture analysis of seed, cleanliness of seed, weight of seed, moisture analysis of oil, sediment analysis, and any other testing as determined by Quality and Food Safety Manager

Documentation of all sample testing and approval where necessary.

Operate lab equipment to satisfy testing needs for customers.

Validation of applicable micro and environmental programs.

Continuous improvement of sampling/testing to ensure 100% food quality and food safety.

Outside lab sourcing and sample submissions as required (e.g.: each lot of oil and meal, other samples as needed)

Maintain and develop Lab SOPs to ensure product safety and consistency

Perform testing at various points of the packaging process /sleeve and bottling Q/A (i.e., weights, volumes, caps, seals, codes, X-ray, screen inspection)

Assist with R & D projects

Assist QI/Process Trainer with Lab Safety training to other individuals that will be operating laboratory equipment or who will be in the presence of dangerous chemicals Document, catalogue and maintain SDS and SR&ED records

Other duties as assigned

HACCP/Food Safety Member

Actively participate in the HACCP Team Meetings

Contribute to ensuring HACCP System is ongoing, effective, suitable, valid and compliant to the reference standards

Ensure documents are under control and updated

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
