Job Description
About SevenTrain Ventures
SevenTrain Ventures is an early- and growth-stage venture capital firm investing in AI, quantum computing, and next-generation enterprise technologies. We co-invest alongside leading institutional and strategic investors, and as early backers of PsiQuantum, we're now actively building out our Quantum Fund. The team is small, ambitious, and moves fast. This role sits at the center of everything we do.
The Role
We're looking for a sharp, self-directed intern to work alongside our Senior Associate across every active workstream at the firm. You'll partner with them on day-to-day execution and, over time, take ownership of specific pieces yourself. You'll also help coordinate and manage our other interns.
This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who wants to understand how a VC firm actually operates — with a clear path to running parts of it independently as you ramp.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities shift week to week depending on what the firm needs most. Core focus areas:
Investor Relations & Fundraising
- Support LP outreach for our Quantum Fund — research prospects, draft outreach, manage follow-up sequences
- Prepare materials for investor updates, pitch decks, and fund communications
- Track and organize inbound interest and manage the investor pipeline
Research & Due Diligence
- Monitor developments across quantum computing, AI, defense tech, and deep-tech ecosystems
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support investment decisions
- Contribute to Intelligence Wars, the firm's flagship thought-leadership series on the convergence of AI, quantum, and national security
Partnerships & Business Development
- Support ongoing partnership discussions with quantum startups and strategic partners
- Coordinate meetings, prepare briefs, and follow up on active deals
- Engage directly with founders, researchers, and industry professionals on behalf of the firm
Events & Community
- Help execute roadshow events across the east and west coasts
- Grow the firm's network through targeted outreach and community engagement
- Represent the firm's brand and thesis professionally in all communications
Operations & Internal Tools
- Help implement lightweight internal tooling for project, task, and team workflow management
- Own and maintain internal trackers, project dashboards, and communication templates
- Draft emails, briefing docs, and memos on behalf of the team
Team Coordination
- Partner with the Senior Associate to coordinate other interns — scoping tasks, reviewing output, and unblocking issues
What You'll Gain
- Direct mentorship from an active VC investor across deal flow, fundraising, and fund operations
- Exposure to a live fund launch, from LP outreach to first closes
- Hands-on experience across every function of a VC firm: research, IR, events, BD, and fundraising
- Access to a high-quality network of founders, investors, and researchers
- Real ownership of deliverables that matter — not busywork
- Flexible schedule adapted to your academic or professional commitments
Who You Are
You don't need to be told what to do twice. You're curious, organized, and energized by working across multiple priorities at once. You communicate clearly and can distill complex information into crisp takeaways.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proactive; takes ownership
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
- Intellectually curious about technology, investing, and the intersection of the two
- Proficient with AI productivity tools and eager to use them to work smarter
- Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in a relevant field — Quantum, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Physics, CS, or similar
- Prior experience in VC, consulting, investment banking, or tech research is a plus — but initiative matters more than credentials
- Interest in quantum computing or deep tech is a plus, not a requirement
Logistics
- Location: Primarily remote, hybrid option in [Cambridge, MA]
- Duration: 6-8 week
- Hours: 15-30 hours a week
- Compensation: This is an unpaid opportunity to gain experience in Venture Capital
