Power Platform Solutions Engineer

Position Description & Qualifications

As a Power Platform Solutions Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our team, focusing on creating and enhancing Power Apps and Power BI solutions within the Navy Flank Speed (Microsoft 365) environment. Your work will be critical in strengthening military defense and ensuring the safety of our sailors.

The NAVSEA 05Z Marine Engineering Directorate is responsible for providing engineering and scientific expertise essential for designing, building, maintaining, and modernizing the Navy's ships, submarines, and warfare systems.

Location: Hybrid, Washington Navy Yard (WNY). Candidates must reside within 300 miles of WNY and be available for initial and sync meetings 1-2 times a month.

In this role, you will:

• Develop Innovative Solutions: Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Power Platform solutions that automate workflows, enhance data visibility, and improve decision-making processes.
• Analyze Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into clear technical specifications.
• Integrate & Customize: Customize and integrate SharePoint Online and related M365 products, particularly focusing on Power Apps and Power Automate to boost functionality.
• Automate Workflows: Implement automated workflows using Power Automate to streamline operations.
• Utilize Dataverse: Develop innovative solutions employing Dataverse and SharePoint lists as data sources and connectors for the Power Platform.
• Create Reports & Analytics: Develop interactive dashboards and reports utilizing Power BI and Power Apps to provide actionable insights.
• Provide Training & Support: Create end-user training materials and offer comprehensive technical support.
• Document & Iterate: Maintain detailed documentation for all solutions with a focus on continuous improvement of knowledge management tools.
• Collaborate & Work Independently: Actively engage with cross-functional teams while effectively managing independent tasks.
• Manage Data Integration: Oversee Power BI dataflows and semantic models to support efficient report creation.

To thrive in this position, you should have:

• An active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Software Development, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint, and/or Dataverse.
• The ability to travel up to 10% as needed.

Additional preferred qualifications include:

• Expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), SQL, REST/Graph APIs, Power Fx, and OData.
• Hands-on experience with Navy Flank Speed/M365 and DoD data handling protocols.
