Manufacturing Engineering Specialist [Analog Electronics] Reports To: Production Manager, ABUDepartment: Assembly Business Unit (ABU)Location: Collingwood, ONJob Type: Full-time permanentSalary: $55,000.00 - $80,000.00Work Schedule: On-site, Monday to FridayPosting End Date: July 3, 2026 SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineering Specialist [Analog Electronics] is a hands-on technical role focused on building, debugging, and refining complex electro-acoustic and analog electronic systems from prototype through production.

This role is heavily weighted toward analog electronics integration and test, requiring strong bench skills, including oscilloscope-based debugging, fine-pitch soldering, and signal-level troubleshooting. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to complete high-performance sensor assemblies, bridging gaps between electrical design, mechanical packaging, and manufacturing execution.

This is a high-autonomy hands-on build-and-debug role within a precision manufacturing environment. You will take ownership of prototype builds, diagnose performance issues at the circuit and system level, and help translate designs into robust, repeatable production processes.

Over time, this role is expected to evolve into a technical authority for electronics integration and test within manufacturing, driving improvements in signal integrity, build quality, and production capability. RESPONSIBILITIES:Analog Electronics Integration· Build, modify, and rework analog and mixed-signal circuits in prototype and production environments· Debug low-level signals using oscilloscopes, including noise, distortion, grounding, and stability issues· Diagnose issues related to impedance, shielding, grounding, and signal integrity in sensitive acoustic systems· Perform fine-pitch soldering, component rework, and PCB modifications under magnification· Validate circuit performance against expected behavior and support root cause analysis of failures· Work closely with design engineers to iterate and improve circuit robustness and manufacturabilityAssembly & System Integration· Assemble hydrophones, transducers, and acoustic sensing systems with integrated analog front ends· Integrate PCBs, preamps, connectors, and multi-conductor cable assemblies· Execute precision processes including encapsulation, potting, and sealing of sensitive electronics· Perform functional and acceptance testing using lab instrumentationProcess Development and Improvement· Identify failure modes during build and test, especially related to electronics performance· Improve assembly methods to reduce noise, variability, and rework· Develop test methods and fixtures for validating analog performance· Support prototype builds and R&D trials to validate new designs and processes

QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Training· Diploma or degree in electronics, electromechanical, electrical engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience· Strong hands-on experience with analog electronics and circuit debugging· Proficient with oscilloscopes for signal analysis (triggering, noise identification, bandwidth considerations)· Comfortable working with low-level signals, shielding, grounding, and noise-sensitive systems· Ability to read schematics and understand circuit intent· Experience assembling and testing electromechanical systems Skills· Proficient in fine pitch soldering, PCB rework (SMT and through-hole) and solder inspection standards (IPC training an asset).· Ability to assemble, pot, bond, crimp, and test components to tight tolerances.· Computer-based data entry and digital work instructions.· Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues down to component and signal level· Programming languages an asset.· Preferred experience in prototyping, R&D builds, or small-batch production environments.
