The Role

As part of the Middle Office, this role supports the successful execution of business strategies and operational objectives by providing end‑to‑end trade lifecycle support. You will ensure daily operational activities are delivered accurately, on time, and in compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and established procedures.

The role involves a broad range of middle office operational responsibilities, including trade processing, monitoring, reconciliation, and client service support focused primarily on Fixed Income Repo activities.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Provide trade lifecycle support for Fixed Income Repo transactions, including trade capture, processing, monitoring, and reconciliation
  • Perform trade input and capture for Fixed Income Repo for NYA and BNS, while supporting global Fixed Income Repo Middle Office activities
  • Support daily “run‑the‑bank” operations for assigned business lines, including trading desk support and issue resolution
  • Facilitate timely settlement of trades by resolving allocation discrepancies, trade detail issues, and settlement instruction breaks with clients and internal partners
  • Review trade fail reports, escalate aged or high‑risk items, and ensure front office teams are informed of outstanding positions
  • Perform front‑office to back‑office (FOBO) reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Support Middle Office initiatives focused on operational efficiency, process optimization, and control enhancement
  • Participate in operational improvement initiatives, including opportunity identification, requirements definition, testing, implementation, and post‑delivery support
  • Ensure day‑to‑day activities align with the Bank’s risk appetite and control frameworks
  • Operate in accordance with applicable operational, compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, and conduct risk requirements

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Prior experience in capital markets, banking, financial services operations, or a related environment
  • Hands‑on experience supporting middle office or trade lifecycle operations
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income products, particularly Repo transactions, is preferred
  • Experience with trade processing, settlement, reconciliations, and exception management
  • Understanding of front‑office to back‑office workflows and related control points
  • Working knowledge of banking systems and operational processes
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools; experience with data analysis or reconciliations is an asset
  • Exposure to operational risk, compliance, AML/ATF, or conduct risk requirements within a financial institution
  • FINRA Series 99 (or other applicable local licensing), where required
